1. Overview
ShowMyTraffic (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a public record and leaderboard of verified website traffic. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our service to verify and showcase website traffic metrics.
We believe in radical simplicity and data minimization. We only collect the minimal aggregate visitor statistics required to power the public leaderboard.
2. Google Analytics Read-Only Access
To verify website traffic without asking you to install third-party tracking scripts, ShowMyTraffic utilizes Google OAuth to access the Google Analytics Data API.
Strictly Read-Only Scope: We request only the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly permission.
No Code Alteration: We cannot and will not modify your Google Analytics settings, filters, goals, or tracking codes.
No Personal Visitor Data: We never collect, store, or process personal identifiable information (PII) about your visitors, such as IP addresses, names, user journeys, or cookies. We only read aggregate numerical counters (activeUsers and totalUsers).
3. Information We Collect
- Website Domain & Title: The domain name (e.g.,
yourdomain.com) and property display name chosen during verification. - Aggregated Traffic Metrics: High-level numerical user counts across selected periods (last 24 hours, last 30 days, last year, and all-time totals).
- Timestamp of Verification: The date and time your website was first verified on ShowMyTraffic, used to establish your Day 1 baseline and compute subsequent growth.
- Temporary Google Account Session: Your Google Account email address during the OAuth flow, solely used to list your accessible properties during step 3. The email is discarded from browser cookies immediately upon verification.
4. Public Display on the Leaderboard
By verifying your website, you acknowledge and agree that your domain name, website favicon, verified visitor count, and percentage growth since listing will be displayed publicly on the ShowMyTraffic leaderboard and accessible to all visitors.
5. Data Retention & Removal Rights
You maintain full ownership of your traffic credentials. If at any time you wish to remove your website and its historical metrics from ShowMyTraffic, you can request immediate delisting by contacting us.
You can also revoke ShowMyTraffic's access at any time through your Google Account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
